Barclay Farmstead Museum is located in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. It’s a historical landmark that features the Barclay family history and culture with interactive exhibits for visitors to enjoy. This museum was built on land originally owned by Colonel John Barclay III, who bought it from William Penn’s son John in 1701. The property remained under the ownership of descendants until 1879, when it was sold to Samuel Curtis Johnson I. The home has been preserved and restored carefully to reflect the period of 1820-1840, when it was last occupied by members of the Barclay family. The furnishings and decorative arts in the home are original or reproduction pieces from that time period. There are also several outbuildings on the property, including a smokehouse, barn, chicken coop, and well house. The farmstead is now open to the public as a museum, and it features exhibits on topics such as agriculture, home life, and local history.
