Medford, New Jersey is an idyllic location for those looking to experience agricultural life. Medford boasts lush green fields and orchards, a town square that hosts the Medford Farmers Market on Wednesday evenings from May through October. The Medford’s have been farming in this area since 1781 when Thomas Medford settled near where Kings Highway runs today.
The Medley family farm offers tours of their historic apple cider mill which was built by Charles Medley in 1858 and houses a general store with fresh produce grown locally year-round as well as an ice cream shop called Sweet Pea’s Frozen Treats. Visitors can also pick various fruits at different times of the season including strawberries, apples, peaches and cherries. Medford is home to the Medford Historical Museum which displays various artefacts from back in its founding days, including furniture and farming implements that were used by the Medford.
Medford also features The Friends of Medford Animal Shelter a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide shelter for homeless animals, adopt them out responsibly into loving homes, educate our community on responsible pet ownership & promote animal welfare. They offer dog walking services as well as providing daycare for those who need someone to watch their dogs when they’re at work or running errands.

Medford, New Jersey is an area of Medford Township with a population of less than 500. The town was founded in 1867 by Samuel Medary and was originally known as Medaryville. Mary chose the name to honour his father’s side of the family, who were descended from David Meder, a German immigrant who arrived in 1683 and settled near what became Medford (then called Ringoes). In 1880 it changed its name to match that of its larger neighbour city.
