Woodbury has a population of around 30,000 people and is the Woodstown-Pilesgrove Township Jointure Commission. It was first settled in 1775 as Woodtown when it was part of Gloucester County. Woodbury became its own municipality on January 18, 1889, from portions of Pilesgrove Township and Woodstown Borough. The area’s rich soil attracts many farmers who grow soybeans, corn, wheat and other crops here; there are also cattle ranches that have been established throughout Woodbury for over 150 years.
